And she most certainly didn't expect what happened next to take place either.
For it would seem that Beans had spotted Logan even before Hady did and took off in the young man's direction as fast as the aging crup could now go. The crups only warning, the occasional excited bark of a crup that couldn't get to his boy fast enough. Whether or not he would crash right into Logan was yet to be seen.
Mama Paton DID spot Beans dart off though and followed him with her eyes, there wasn't much that would make him run off like that anymore. A small laugh slipped past her lips when she saw her son running along the pathway and she called out a quick warning to him. "Logan, look out for Beans!" Please don't trip of that silly crup like they've all done so many times before (namely Bryony). Surprisingly (or maybe it wasn't a surprise at all), the blond hadn't heard the crup's barking. As far as he was concerned, it was just another background noise of the outdoors and certainly not something out of the ordinary. So he carried on this his thoughts, having decided on entering the forest when he got there. If he was lucky, maybe he'd stumble across a hinkypunk or a red cap.
His mum's warning, though, was heard loud and clear. His head turned as he continued jogging, his blue eyes registering that she was coming up from the other path. Look out for Beans? Why would he need to --
Within seconds, the old crup had seemingly come out of nowhere and jumped on the teenager, causing Logan to fall onto the ground, luckily on the grass instead of the hard path. A loud moan left his mouth as the crup instantly started slobbering all over his face. "Beeeeeeeeans," Logan groaned, trying to push the dog's face away from his. Of course, he was laughing at this point, so mixed signals were being sent and the crup carried on.
