Arden didn't think she'd ever be able to get here by herself even once she could use magic. It just seemed....hard. And she didn't want to do it alone.
She opened her own bag of crisps and sighed as she leaned back. "Besides working, did you do anything else this summer?" she asked. She had done quite a bit, but she would be polite and wait until she was asked. IF he asked. If he didn't ask after her answered, she'd offer her answer regardless.
A loose curl had fallen in front of her eyes, and she quickly brushed it away from her forehead. The heat of Greece and the summer was not kind to her hair. She would be glad to be in Scotland soon enough. Fynley had always assumed it was the Hufflepuffs that came prepared with snacks considering their proximity to the kitchen and not the Gryffindors. That being said he absolutely did appreciate the offer considering he’d had barely any time to stop for some food on his journey and has merely picked up a cereal bar from one of the vending machines at the station. There might have been very few things he was looking forward to about the school but the feast was definitely one of them. “Ugh yeah, I’m starving. Thanks” he grinned taking one of the bags and instantly ripping it open to consume.
Fynn had taken the entire journey by himself with no parental help for reasons he wasn’t sure he’d want to disclose publicly quote yet. “The issues with being under seventeen right?” Also of not exactly being on speaking terms with his parents and therefore there being no charms on his suitcase. It was a good job he wasn’t an overpacker really and anything that was sentimental was small enough to just throw into his backpack.
The topic of summer was a little touchy to the point where there wasn’t really much to say other than that he had engulfed himself in work and avoiding his parents house as much as possible. “No not much really. Other than spending time at my—“ He paused trying to think of the right word that didn’t sound too clingy but ultimately failing. “—Boyfriends house” Thank Merlin Joseph wasn’t around to hear that or he’d probably be teased endlessly for how cringy that sounded. Way too official considering the question hadn’t been explicitly asked but what exactly was the alternative?
Swiftly moving on.. “Hope yours was a bit more eventful than mine?”
