Unlike some people he was well acquainted to, Fynley really didn’t have any qualms about his alone time being interrupted. In fact he welcomed it. “No I don’t mind,” he replied offering Arden a small but genuine smile. He removed his feet from the seat opposite to give her a little more space and because he wasn’t a totally selfish and inconsiderate type of guy. His arms also unfolded in an attempt to not look as defensive and ‘melancholy’ as she had put it. “I’m alright. I’m just.. tired.” Physically and mentally really do the statement was up for interpretation although he did offer further explanation. “I worked a long shift at Atticus’ yesterday for the last of my paychecks, stayed up late last night to pack and then pulled my case all the way through London to get here.” Being underage and having the Trace hindered his abilities to use magic to his advantage leaving him having to do it the Muggle way. Tired, eh? Arden thought that was a decent excuse for looking "melancholy." She offered him one of her bags of veggie crisps. "Do you need a snack? That does seem tiring," she agreed. "Making your way through London was probably a lot. You did it by yourself?" she asked, since he hadn't seemed like he used magic. Arden didn't think she'd ever be able to get here by herself even once she could use magic. It just seemed....hard. And she didn't want to do it alone.
She opened her own bag of crisps and sighed as she leaned back. "Besides working, did you do anything else this summer?" she asked. She had done quite a bit, but she would be polite and wait until she was asked. IF he asked. If he didn't ask after her answered, she'd offer her answer regardless.
A loose curl had fallen in front of her eyes, and she quickly brushed it away from her forehead. The heat of Greece and the summer was not kind to her hair. She would be glad to be in Scotland soon enough.
