Elias wanted to make a comment about Ezra sounding like a girl but judging by the present company in the shop it would probably go down like a lead balloon. Despite it seeming like conflict was his thing (which it was when it came to a battle of words), Eli didn’t much fancy any further interaction with others that he did not know.
Which was seemingly impossible considering that curly-haired tumbleweed was grinning at him and Ezra was encouraging it. He simply rolled his eyes and turned away in the hopes that she would take the hint, even if Ezra was all but ready to make new friends HE was not.
Ezra was an expert at finding which buttons to push to wind up Elias but he supposed it was the duty of the big brother to do exactly that. Elias would therefore in turn replicate the same with the younger siblings when it was their turn to attend school. “But that’s different! I don’t look like a fluffy creature, you look like a toad.” The little smirk that followed was peak Elias getting his own way. “Anyway I thought you’d want something ‘cooler’ than a Puffskein?” Did he WANT others to make fun of him?!
Thankfully the bear hug hadn’t lasted long and as soon as he was released from Ezra’s grip he stepped away leaving some distance between them as if to say that they weren’t related and they’d never met each other before. He did his best to straighten up his clothes too, their Grandpa had always taught them that the way they represented themselves publicly was extremely important.
“You could always leave me here” he retorted starting his peruse of the shelves.
