If they really wanted a promise, then an Unbreakable Vow, which she had ready plenty about in the event could be useful one day, would be appropriate. Not that promises were a thing she made often. Fortunately for Drake, he was the only person she made promises to. "Pinky promise," she replied, sticking out her little finger.

"The correlation would make sense," she told him, pleased that he was on the same brainwave that she was about that. "Think we could convince Mum to let us get a few magical creatures? It just might increase the odds." It was a long shot, but she wouldn't say no to a live creature to study on her free time.
