So, he was quite safe presently. Nothing to fret about. And she wasn't about to ask about this five second rule since it apparently did not exist in the first place.

"Though you did say that your bodily addition was meant as a treat to Gherkin." Gherkin who could actually appreciate it instead of one of the replicas.
Her attention did briefly drift towards Professor Khanna as he finished preparing herself and Mercer for the task ahead - a task they were already getting quite sidetracked from - and simply offered a small little bow before her attention resettled on Mercer.
"Okay," she agreed without question at their replica kappa reached out towards them and she lobbed the cucumber with her name carved into it underhand towards it. Perhaps, with some luck, it would land in the indent atop his head. She was subconsciously aiming for that area.
A second or two more and the Kappa would have wrapped its webbed fingers around Mercer’s wrist, at which point the fourth year just might have had a difficult time escaping. The ‘creature’ saw the cucumber; in fact, its eyes followed it as it raced through the air… then…
SPLASH!!!!
There was one vegetable sitting in its head snugly after some of the water had spilt out when the cucumber landed. The Kappa was momentarily stymied in surprise.

The Kappa didn’t get that riddle. Heck, it didn’t even like riddles. Silly human. That moment of silliness would cost yo- CUCUMBER NUMBER THREE!!! The Kappas was so focused on the third one, turning it over in its hands, staring at the name inscribed on it. In the process, it gulped down the first two cucumbers in a hungry flash.
