Brandon added the word capricious to his mental vocabulary, hoping the capricious eggs were like a certain capricious family member and not a certain other capricious family member. Maybe they could be placated in the ways he already knew to use on people. A boy could hope.
"Capricious doesn't seem like a synonym for wiggly," Brandon said to himself out loud. Wiggly wasn't scary. In fact, his eggs weren't even that wiggly (maybe they knew he really didn't want them to be). It took him fewer and fewer tries to get the eggs until eventually he wasn't dropping them at all most of the time. He was almost done!
