What would the students be doing today? The seventh year took in the setup. Wooden boards? Something like a… nest? Hmmm. But there were cushions which meant that he could head over to one to have a seat. Jude did just that, finding one somewhere in the middle of the mix and settling there.
Kennedy found himself doing the same as Jude, looking up at the sky on occasion. It was more due to his lack of trust in the weather. Some days they had nice days in the morning and the next thing you knew, it was raining by noon then snowing ten minutes later. Trust issues, man.

Something he did trust, though, was Jude’s flying abilities and Kennedy couldn't wait to see how the young man would handle this activity. “Good morning, Mister Anders. I hope you came prepared.” Kennedy tapped his temple, emphasizing this wasn’t just any flying activity.

It was all around a win, which was why Vera skipped onto the practice pitch in the highest of spirits.

"Hi Professor!" She chirped, eying the set up. Normally she would make a guess, verbally, on what the plan for the day was and yet.... This time she had zero clue, so instead of saying anything at all she simply found herself a cushion and plopped down. It was certainly nice to have somewhere more COZY to sit while waiting for lessons to begin.
Following, arrived Vera in her usual chirpy self. Kennedy smiled kindly at her. “Good day, Miss Thanatos.” What? No guess today on what they were going to do? Did he stump her? Excellent. Kennedy was quite proud of himself.

Brandon was not the best or happiest flier, but he did like comfortable seating and physical activity. He wasn't grumpy.
Here was Brandon. Kennedy had specific instructions from his daughter to keep this little guy safe at all costs. Violeta seemed to take a quick liking to the kid, and Kennedy had explained that his lessons were not dangerous. They were simply designed to challenge the students, and that’s exactly what he had in mind today. “Good morning, Mister Fox.”

A class she liked, one of her favorite professors, and nice, sunny weather for this time of year… what was there not to be happy about?

She arrived, dressed in comfortable athletic wear like the notice said, but there was no reason comfortable had to be boring, right? Today she was feeling beastly, so she went for blue and gold sweatpants, a blue sweatshirt with a rose graphic, and matching sneakers. "Good morning, Professor," she greeted with a smile and a princessy wave.

Cue more waves for Jude, Vera, and Brandon. "Hi!" Desiree greeted as she took a seat on one of the cushions. She eyed the setup with an intrigued expression. Hmm, boards and… was that a nest? What was that for? Were they supposed to roll something over the boards and into the nests? She had no idea!
It was already December and yet Kennedy still felt a relief when he saw students coming to class, carefree. Desiree had seemed miserable last term, and within reason, and this term it was a 360. Kennedy welcomed her cheery, fashionable self with a smile and curt nod in response to her princess wave. “Good morning, Miss Marchand.”

It was always interesting to see different teaching styles and knowledge. “Good morning, Professor,” he greeted the man as he moved towards the entrance to the pitch before passing through to the actual field.

A field that had a collection of boards and what seemed like nests scattered about. Alrighty then, the Ravenclaw leaving it to be revealed as he took a seat on one of the free cushions.
Another of his talented flyers. Along with Jude, Rajesh was one of the handful of students Kennedy trusted to set an example for the younger ones. He wondered if any of the two were considering professional Quidditch, and if not, he would be more than pleased to write recommendation letters for university, or in anything they planned to do after Hogwarts. He would make sure to call them both and offer them his service.

As it was, this wasn’t time for it, so he’ll do it later. “Good day, Mister Atreyu-Rehman.”

It's a nice morning for broom flying." she noted, if that was what they were doing?

On the way to sit down Maria sent waves and smiles in greeting to her friends as she headed for a particilar cushion. "Hi Desiree! Hi Jude, Hi Rajesh, Hi Brandon!" Sitting down on the empty cushion next to Vera she playfully, but gently poked her good friend in the side. "Hi Vera, what is it I'm hearing? Are you crushing on a boy too and haven't told me?" It was out at least among some badgers that she was crushing on Kion of the lions.
Ah, someone who noticed the weather. Kennedy had made the effort to select a day with no snow for the sake of the students--and the activity. For both. “Good morning, Miss Dolph. It really is a great day for flying.” They were definitely going to be doing lots of that this morning.

Maybe she'd go sit by the lake later too, to work on some art on the journal Ren got for her. Truly, one must take advantage of such cozy weather.

"Good morning, professor," the littlest Rasting greeted the flying instructor with a smile as she moved to join the rest of her classmates who arrived before her. Yukie plopped on a cushion beside her dorm mate, Desiree, and wiggled her fingers at the other Hufflepuff as acknowledgment. Hey, hi, hello!

Why were there nests beside the wooden boards? Maybe it was a setup for a game of basketball. Quaffleball, maybe? No. Basketquaffle?
Kennedy returned the smile with a gentle one of his own. If you had told him one day that he’d be teaching his former classmates’ children, Kennedy would have rolled his eyes. Yet, here he was, teaching more than just one of his classmates’ kids. Kurumi’s bunch gave him--what did his daughter call it--feels? Yeah, it gave him that. “Nice day, Miss Rasting.”

He had a perfectly good one at home, which his dad had bought for him when he had turned ten, the day they'd thought the worst times were done with. Regulus had been pleasantly surprised to discover that flying was something he could do well, a natural talent as opposed to one he'd had to work hard at.

But the brooms. Surely it made more sense that anyone who had one could bring it so that there was less competition for the school brooms. What did they think would happen if first years had their own? And what about if a broom was a comfort object, and being able to fly like normal helped first years feel better about being so far from home, especially for the first time? Hogwarts would really deprive their youngest students a simple home comfort?

Oh, that was a good one. Regulus made a mental note of it as he strolled towards the practice pitch from the castle, formulating debates in his head as he so often did to pass any solitary long walks between common room, classes, and meals. Maybe he'd actually try out his persuasive skills on the flying instructor, or the Headmaster, just for the heck of it. Maybe not. There were other things keeping him preoccupied too.

He arrived at the practice pitch in black joggers, and a navy blue hoodie with a scarf in his house colours tucked into the front. There was no snow, but he felt the bite of the chill, and anything to do with flying ended up very hit and miss with whether he would warm up or end up a... a Regulucicle. Better to be prepared.

"Good morning," Regulus said to Professor Escalante as he arrived at the pitch. He cast an eye over the lesson set up as always, then took a seat on the cushion beside Brandon, like there was nothing out of the ordinary here. Which there wasn't, really. Cryptic lesson set-ups were perfectly normal, as far as he was concerned.
The flow of students started to dwindle down after some time. Kennedy checked his watch, there was still a few minutes left before the activity began. Here came another brave soul. “Good day, Mister Evans.” He didn’t seem to show the same curiosity as the rest of his classmates. Did he not wonder what Kennedy was about to put them through?

What made it even better is they were having a flying lesson today and they would get to go outside and spend sometime outside. The day was nice, so it was a good day to be able to dress comfy and go out.

As she headed to the practice pitch, the first person she seen was the tall professor himself. "Hello, Professor Escalante." She bustled by him smiling, excited as always for his lessons. There were already a number of others there. She smiled as she past some of the older students. She looked over and seen what the professor had set up of them today. She tried to guess what they would be doing today.
After little miss Maisey arrived, Kennedy decided it was time to start. He smiled at her, “Good morning, Miss Wilde.” He waited for her to head inside before doing so himself. If there were any late stragglers that’d be fine. This activity was for fun and challenging skills.

“Good day and welcome to the practice pitch,” he announced as he reached the front of the group of students. “As you may already be aware this activity will be a fun way to challenge and sharpen your skills.” So there would be no need to lose their feathers if things didn’t go their way. “Today we will be putting not only your flying skills, but your memory skills to practice as well. Now, you may all be wondering how?” Kennedy resisted the smirk that wanted to break out.

His wand slipped into his hand and he gave it a wave. At once the all of the boards levitated a few feet off the ground and turned to face the students. They weren’t just boards, they held a puzzle. The nests remained below their respective boards, but they were no longer empty. They were filled with different colored eggs, and if you looked closer, they had marks that resembled that of the puzzle pieces.

“You will be tasked to replicate this puzzle on the empty boards located at the opposite side of this field.” Kennedy signaled said empty boards with his wand, all spaced out, one for every student. “All pieces must contain the same color, same design and must be placed in the right spot in order to be complete.” Now for one of the fun bits. “You must be wondering where the puzzle pieces are and what are these eggs doing here?” He gave them a slanted smile. “These eggs are the puzzle pieces. You must collect an egg that matches the piece you are going to place on the board, and deliver it on a spoon across this field while flying on your broom. Beware, these eggs could be quite capricious and like to stir up some trouble. If you are to drop one, the egg will simply reappear back in its nest. Once you reach the board, the egg will transform into a puzzle piece and you will have to place it where it belongs on the board. You will repeat these steps until it is complete.” It wasn’t that hard, was it? “Be on the lookout for challenges that might pop up.”

Kennedy felt confident that while this might be challenging, the students were capable of doing it. They’ve practiced more than just the basics this term, they had this. “Just a recap, you will memorize the puzzle while simultaneously flying an egg on a spoon to the opposite side of the field and completing the puzzle on your respective board. Come up here and collect a wooden spoon and a broom, then select a puzzle board. At the sound of my whistle you’ll begin. Good luck.”

He waited for the students to come up and grab a broomstick. For today they were using the school designated brooms. No ifs, ands, or buts. It was for their own broom’s sake, honestly.

Eyeing the students, Kennedy brought the whistle to his lips and blew. GO!

OOC: Hellooooo! Glad to see you all here! This is a fun little obstacle course where the students must use their memorization skills and see how it fares during challenges. I’ll be hopping in to spice things up sometime tomorrow. If you have any questions don’t hesitate to send me a PM. Happy RPing/Flying! <3
