Brandon looked miserably at the older student standing in the door. Her clothes were dry, but her hair wasn't, but she had an umbrella. Also she had a jar of dirt, which sort of reminded him of a movie he'd seen with his family. Maybe it was for protection from the water. Or maybe she was keeping something in it. He was curious. He was more curious about why she had wet hair. And how she'd kept dry clothes, and what spell produced an umbrella.
He made awkward eye contact from his chair for a while, then spoke. "How'd you get it so that your hair is wet but your clothes are dry? Is that a charm?" Was it a charm she'd teach him? He was cold. And worse, wet. And extra worse, he'd forgotten his manners, and hadn't even introduced himself.
"I'm Brandon Fox. And I don't know very much magic yet so it would be really kind if you could show me a drying charm. If you've got one. Please." He'd owe her. |
