A path is not simply for walking, its purpose lies in moving forward and improving oneself.

So, he tried to see as much as his little legs could carry him in-between... everything.

Which meant he was occasionally late to the classes, but that wasn't the point.

Today was one such day, during which he was discovering the Lake. He deliberately chose a Saturday for this, because the lake (and grounds in general) seemed interesting enough to spare ONE WHOLE DAY for them!

Minus the homeworks. But who cared about those anyway??

Breathing in the fresh air, Joel walked up to the lake, sat down by the edge and set his blue eyes on its surface. Maybe he could meet a mer...person!

Meredith had been stuck inside the Gryffindor common room with a stack of essays that were due on Monday. But the harder she tried to focus, the less she wanted to do her homework. What was the harm in putting it off until tonight?

Having made a decision, she put her work in her dormitory drawer prior to heading out of the Common Room and moved downstairs with her trusted camera around her neck.

She took pictures of things that interested her as she walked. A random tree, a squirrel on another tree. The distant clouds were gradually turning grey though and she wanted to keep an eye on it in case it started raining. She had charmed her camera into being waterproof though.

It didn't take her long to arrive at the Lake, where she came to a halt a good distance away. Every time she was near a large body of water, she felt a strange sensation in her stomach. Something she couldn't put her finger on other. "Don't get too close to the water, kid" she warned a younger, most likely first-year student. In the meantime, she would stand safely near this tree... Yes, a reasonable distance from the water. The first-year boat ride to Hogwarts was the last time she HAD to be anywhere near it. Why did Hogwarts have this stupid Lake in the first place?! Did no one else see the DANGER it possessed?!
