Luck for her it was magical and it probably didn't matter too much but still.. couldn't she stand still like everyone else?

His attention was quickly pulled from his sisters and onto the man that approached them with boxes of wands. Now this was what he had been waiting for. The moment of truth. Which wand was his. "Hello, Sir." Xander smiled lightly, standing up a little taller as he watched the man select the wand from the middle box and present it to him. Reaching out for it, he slowly closed his fingers around the smooth cool wood of the wand, a gentle warmth spreading through his hand right away. Was that supposed to happen? He didn't know but he was told to give it a wave, so that's what he did..

Xander gave the wand in his hand a small wave in front of him, a stream of small colorful bubbles bursting forth from the tip of his wand and into the air around those standing there. "I like this one," he declared with great certainty looking up at the wandmaker, a slight grin on his face now. This was his wand. He was sure of it.

He cast a quick glance at his sisters to see how they were each doing with their new wands before looking over at his parents. They had seen how well he had done, right? He hadn't even blown anything up.

Delightful, simply delightful. Zeke positively beamed at the young man. "Evidently it likes you too." One of the colourful bubbles drifted up close to his face, and he gave it a smart little poke to pop it before it could drift lazily into his eyes.

"Right then," he said, getting back to business. "I daresay you want to know the specifics?" Zeke was always more than willing to provide; the wand boxes had the basic specs, of course, but he was here to take them through the finer points.

"This wand is twelve inches and two thirds of strong rowan, with unicorn hair at the core. Rowan is the most protective wand wood available, and defensive charms cast with rowan are particularly strong. As you might expect, shielding magic and defensive wards are also well-suited to these wands, and it's ideal for defensive duelling." If, of course, duelling was of any interest. Even if it wasn't, you couldn't really go wrong with a wand suited to defensive magic, just in general. "Rowan is also good for communication spells, and deflecting and repelling spells of the mind. With the unicorn hair core, this wand is a very faithful one, and also well-suited to charms and transfigurations, and to healing spells especially."

And that, as they said, was that. Zeke smiled again. "10 galleons for the wand itself, and we have several other products if you're interested." He nodded towards the price board.

Or rather HER wand had chosen her. She smiled at her sister’s thumbs up and listened intently as the shopkeeper explained all about her wand. Good for healing and working with creatures…useful for those in her family for sure. Oooo a lucky wand…protective against lightening strokes…that could be SO helpful if she was caught in a storm on her adventures. Faithful and consistent, good with charms and transfiguration, which were both subjects she was definitely interested in learning.

And she certainly wasn’t about to get into the dark arts so that was a-ok.
Nodding in understanding at the price, her gaze followed the man’s motioning to the board to think on what she might need. A holster like her sister, but something a bit more sturdy. “One green leather holster please,” Nadia asked as she dug in her purse for the 12 galleons for the wand plus the extra for the holster and handing it to the shopkeeper.

"Of course." One green leather holster, coming right up. By the time Zeke had summoned the right one, and rung that up too, his young customer had already produced the money for both. He took the coins, and counted them into the cash register. "Wonderful, thank you very much. And good luck with that new wand of yours. All the best to the both of you."

He had been referring to both customer and wand as he said that, but as it also applied to both of these young customers, Zeke decided to smile once more at both so that it might be interpreted as such.

Oh...uh! The Mister Wand-Guy was already on his way to the Cash-Register?! The curly-haired boy followed right behind him with a bounce in his step.

Zeke allowed a little chuckle. "It certainly seems that way to me too," he said in agreement, and simply smiled somewhat indulgently as to the rest. Super funny, sure, he'd allow that. These things... washed off... usually. Yes, yes, Zeke could see the funny side.

"So!" So, this wand. Zeke drummed his fingers on the counter and launched into his spiel regarding the wand specs. "What you have here is twelve and a half inches of springy spruce, with a graphorn horn core. Spruce... requires a somewhat firm hand. Often seems to have its own ideas about what magic it should or will cast." And, unless Zeke was very much mistaken, this boy was perfectly capable of mastering it. Spruce wands seldom, if ever, chose an owner that did not have what it took to keep it well in hand. "An intensely loyal wand wood, capable of particularly flamboyant and dramatic effects-" Here Zeke glanced towards the scene of the slime, and back again. "-and is excellent for conjuration and creature magic, but not suitable for the Dark Arts. The core makes this wand excellent for defensive magic and duelling spells, which is always a plus."

Now then, with that, all that was left was the actual purchasing. "The wand by itself costs 11 galleons, and we have some other products for sale, if you're interested," Zeke said, and gestured with a nod towards the inventory boards.

The fact he hadn’t was interesting, but not enough that she felt like asking. Firstly, she knew Xander wouldn’t answer and secondly, their wands were being delivered. Yes, they were a big group, and this particular member of it hadn’t forgotten the lack of consideration. Even if she also knew mum and dad would’ve already known how expensive it would be and so forth, this ickle brunette was more focused on the slight to herself. She might not have asked for special treatment, but she fully thought she deserved it.

And the wand man had even made her wait for last. She’d returned his smile with an impassive expression, hoping he knew what he’d done. Maybe the fact he’d admitted she was by no means least (and she wasn’t, Phoebe had been the littlest triplet when they’d been born) had helped ease her frustration the tiniest bit, but she still hadn’t budged an inch on the smile thing when she’d taken the offered wand. There’d need to be more before he’d get a smile from her.

Plus, she’d been tempted to say the wand wasn’t perfect for her one bit, just out of spite, except… it actually did feel perfect. It felt like hers, like it belonged in her hand, and she gave it an experimental wave. Because she wanted to, not because he’d told her to, and the slightest of grins appeared as a tiny flame flickered out of the tip of the wand. It reminded her of her goal to learn fire dancing, which meant it knew her. This wand understood her.

Okay, maybe wand man wasn’t all bad.

If he was bothered or offended by the lack of reaction, Zeke didn't show it, and, really, it did take an awful lot to faze him when it came to his young customers. His was a profession that necessitated - relied on, really - interacting with all sorts of personalities, after all. By this stage in his career, he had an abundance of patience for every last one of them... so far, at least.

Eventually noting a smile on the girl's face, he met it with one of his own, and regarded the flicker of flame in appreciation. For the sake of the match, that is. Deep down inside he met it with another flicker, this one of the mildest anxiety. An out of control fire in a wand shop would be nothing short of a tragedy, after all.

But all was well here today.

"Right then," he said, with a note of approval. "I'd say we've found a match. What you have there is eleven and a quarter inches of spinnable cedar, with a dragon heartstring core. A Hebridean Black, to be precise." And Zeke did like to be precise, after all. "One of the Ollivanders used to say 'you will never fool the cedar carrier', and it's true that it tends to pick very perceptive individuals." Also those who held grudges if their loved ones were hurt, and those who could make a frightening adversary if crossed. As a rule, Zeke tried not to make assumptions about anyone who passed through his shop, but... well, the wand had chosen her. "As you've no doubt noticed, cedar is well suited to fire spells, and it also aids with confidence in its owner... if needed, of course. The dragon heartstring core makes for a wand with a fair bit of oomph, and which lends itself to quick mastery of new spells. Very versatile core, though bigger spells which require or produce more power will come easier than your subtle, more delicate spellwork."

That was probably enough to be getting on with. "10 galleons for the wand, and we have some other products you might be interested in too," Zeke said, and gestured towards the price boards which denoted all the Ollivanders products and services.
