~ Mrs. Steve Harrington ~ It be like that sometimes. Suresh hadn’t even given it a thought that he had just given himself away with regard to noticing Advika and her studies. The young man was definitely not a creeper. It was just that… just that she was like a magnet - always attracting his attention towards her. It had always been that way from the very first day he had noticed her, the day when he had made an utter fool of himself. But it was settled: Advika was having some much needed educational recreation time. Mission accomplished.
Memories of his childhood and teenage years tumbled around in his brain. Unsurprisingly, there were many great ones. “There were the usual sibling spats. Minor things - who got the last chapati or who was mom’s favourite or who stole dad’s motorbike and went for a ride.” A warm smile crept across his face as he relived those. Then Advika was complimenting him and it was a happiness that welled up inside of him, unlike any other sort that he had felt before. Did this mean that this goddess was seeing him in a different light now? Instinct told him not to get too ahead of himself, to let things continue to play out. “Thank you. You’re right… there are others that have or had the same privileges as us but they just haven’t made the best of it.” So, here he and Advika were, two of the sensible and lucky ones. “I like hearing about your family,’’ Sur admitted, but left it at that should he come across as a creeper. It was an open invitation for her to always regale him with tales of her earlier life.
Okay.
Suresh was going to pass out, he was ninety nine point nine percent sure of it. Advika had actually linked her arm through his!!! He looked down at their joined arms and fell into a slight daze. This daze remained even as they came across the Hieroglyphics Exhibit. “Um… can you… read them?” Struggling for words? This was exactly what was happening. |
