Sunrise

Yoon Manor (Age 10)
It was around 5 am and Daniel sat upright in his bed. He had his fingers in his ears and was trying to concentrate on anything other than his older brother's terrified cries. It happened almost every night after he got home from Hogwarts, and the ten-year-old despised hearing his brother in such anguish.
He noticed movement in his mirror's reflection and knew that his mother had shut his door. He did not mind. He was too afraid to walk over to close the door himself. He turned on his light and began counting every single one of his books that lined the wall of his room, occasionally wiping away frustrated tears with his arms. After a while, he checked his alarm clock once he was sure his brother was calm again. He didn't feel like sleeping any longer though, so he got out of bed and grabbed a book before heading to the window, waiting to watch the sunrise.
