Well duuuh.
Obviously the answer was a cat. Jude’s first thought had been a kneazle but luckily he hadn’t blurted it out without first trying to think it over. They might have wasted their chance of getting the book if that had been the case. He couldn’t help but grin as the sphinx stretched then went to get the book. They’d done it! And yes, Jude found it amusing that the riddle’s answer was a cat since the sphinx resembled one. Not that he would say that to her face in case it offended her.
Being one nearer to the front of the group, Jude bent to collect the book. There was nothing worse that could happen to him since his powers, along with everyone else’s, had manifested at their strongest… right? “Thank you,’’ he said to the sphinx with a smile. She really was nice.
