Jane was tired and feeling rather grim lately. Thanks to the effects of those enchanted objects of the merpeople, she had lost yet another round of experiments, in what was already a very tricky part of her work. She'd spent the past week just cleaning up the spoiled parts and thoroughly cleansing the little laboratory she had set up at the top tier of the Death Chamber, which meant a lot of work for seemingly little gain. She also felt slightly embarrassed by whatever she may have said or done while she was enchanted--she couldn't really remember very clearly, but from the looks she'd been getting from some of the other Ministry employees, she could imagine the sort of thing. So she was in no mood for a long line at the floos and she sighed softly to herself as she noticed several people milling around in the corridor.

She approached the area just in time to catch Lucas's last words and immediately began investigating the floo powder containers nearest her, one after the other...What was going on here? They couldn't all be empty...could they? But they appeared to be, and if they were, that meant... "This is not normal," she said out loud. "They shouldn't all be empty."
