The weather in February was still chilly but Rachel Skye Bayless was sweating and slightly grumpy. Of course from her previous pregnancy, exercise had been recommended but here she was huffing and puffing even though her baby bump wasn’t that huge yet. There it was, that word: yet. Maybe it was her hormones but she wanted to cry as she eased herself into one of the seats at Florean’s. Without looking at Kyle lest he see the tears forming in her eyes, the Herbologist pried her scarf from her face and neck.

The flavours of ice cream wafted out at her and it was one of the scents that did not make her want to be sick. What a relief for that. Rachel busied herself by pulling a tissue from her bag to mop the sweat from her forehead. Discreetly, she also tended to those bothersome tears. Only then did she look around to her husband. “I’m craving cookies and cream with gummy worms,’’ Rach said softly, trying not to be overwhelmed and teary all over again because Kyle didn’t deserve her throwing a tantrum at him for now reason.
