Last term had been nice, getting the momentary break from important exams.

Even if she honestly wasn’t entirely certain on her path after graduation, she didn’t want to risk her test scores making the decision for her. Possibly that was the reason she’d sought out the out of the way study location, but apparently it wasn’t entirely so. She had looked up as she heard the voice calling inside, tilting her head slightly in curiosity as to what the person expected but otherwise not responding.
At least, not until the person came inside and she saw who it was. She’d grinned slightly at the question, and her head of house. Also possibly her favorite professor, or at least the one who taught her favorite subject. “Nothing exciting. Just transfiguration studying”. NEWT studying, to be specific.

Could an answer be weirdly prophetic? She suddenly wondered if it could as the conversation got interrupted by the poltergeist himself. Especially curious when Peeves chose not to announce his arrival, but she had seen the flourish of the book in his hand. She had been just about to say something when she noticed a glow coming from the direction of the book in her lap, or more accurately her hands holding the book. Uh…
He returned her smile. It was nice to have a student genuinely enthralled with his class. Often times, he looked out into the classroom and found a sea of sleeping faces but there would always be a handful of bright beacons that were actively staying up with his lecture. Cailyn was one of those rare individuals.

"Transfiguration.. ah NEWTs.. I remember that NEWT. What other classes are you taking for NEWTS? History of Magic naturally." He had spent hours studying in both his fifth and seventh years. Fortunately there had been a group of them that studied together but finding a nice nook that you could go solo-study in was also something important that Simon had discovered.

Simon let out a loud sigh, thinking of the Poltergeist more. Unbeknowst to him was that the Poltergeist was in this very room. If he had known, he would have made some sort of joke that he was a Peeves-magnet... a troublemaker magnet of some sorts... He had glanced at the Mirror momentarily before glancing back at Miss Cooke. That was when he saw the book that she was holding start to emit this glowing..?

"Miss Cooke.. I've never seen a book glow like that... Or are those your hands? Do you... feel alright?" Concern washed across his face.
