"You don't want to do courage? Integrity?" Integrity was much less exciting to watch in a contest, frankly. Like people pulling out chairs for each other or something. "OH, okay, like... what if it's a trick? On the way to the next task, you run into someone who needs a hand. And if you stop to help them, and effectively through all of their 'oops, I just keep dropping these packages' issues, then you get top marks. But if you blow past them to the event, for your own personal gain, then you lose."
......badge of honor.

Right.

Atlas' brow arched and he leaned back just a little bit to try and take in the full, er, look that Mercer was going for. He honestly could not say that he 'got' it, but if the kid felt good and confident looking like he had just come tumbling out of a fireplace then...he could look like he came tumbling out of a fireplace. As long as he kept those ash covered hands to himself and not all over this Gryffindor's robes then everything would be fine. "Okay then, you do you, mate," he nodded with a small smile.

(yes, very SPooOoOky, Mercer. Just a tip toe ahead of your couch attempt)

"Courage just seems too obvious," he replied with a small shrug. "At least the traditional sense of it with fighting dragons and showing active nerve and whatever. Courage comes in more forms than those that require brute force and all that." All types of courage that he did not think he possessed, but that was a spiral for another day. Atlas was kind of advocate against testing people when they did not know they were being tested (notice what he says and not what he does in this case, please and thank you), but since they would be the gamemakers in this case and not likely the ones to actually do it...he had no problem with it. It was all speculator anyway and, at the end of the day, they needed to show Professor Holden something with a direction and at least some thought. "That could work, actually. Have them enter tunnels that they are told will lead them to their next task, which isn't a lie because the moment they cross the threshold they are being led to their next task. Contestants just will assume its at the end of the tunnel and not...something along the way. Kind of like that one fairy tale...the one with the beast and the fairy and whatever. Offering aid at the expense of your own victory transforming something on site into the clue for the next round." Fairy tale book knowledge brought to you by one Lisa Nam. "The end of the tunnel actually just leads to the stands where everyone is waiting and signals the conclusion of the task. Utilizing time, setting a limit, would add a sense of urgency too. Something long enough not to elicit suspicion."

Atlas wasn't so sure about boxes and the like, but they were still workshopping.
