‘What now?’ had been Brody’s response to the Patronus that had appeared on the vacant desk next to his. The young Consulate felt as though he were slowly losing his mind with all the aftermath of the gala, missing Gabriel and the usual requirements that came attached to his job. Thank Merlin he had graduated from University otherwise he’d have gone bonkers by now.

Grimly, he made his way down to the Atrium. However, from a distance he could hear the rather loud voice which he recognised as Head of Department for Mysteries. Needless to say Brody broke into a run, Airey’s words registering in his brain. Of course it had to do something with the merpeople.

Skidding to a halt, Brody quickly observed the situation though his gaze quickly honed in on Sophie. Now it made sense as to why Bumble has sent a Patronus to DIMC. “Again, Sophie??” The words tumbled out of his mouth because this was not the first time he had encountered the Ambassador in one of these crazy moments where she suddenly had a craving for aquatic things. At least this time was a step up from the toilets. He still wanted to gag just thinking about that.

“Help him,’’ Brody told Jordan, indicating to Bumble. “I’ve got Sophie.” Perhaps of all that had gathered here, he knew Sophie the best and she might see reason if he attempted to coax her out of Fountain. Then again, she had been unbelievably stubborn back in the toilet. Cue him wanting to gag again because… Sophie had been drinking that water. The man plastered a smile on his face and approached the Fountain. “Hey, Sophie. Thirst working up again? You know I've got you covered with an endless supply of water. This time we’ll even get you a pool.” Not really but anything to get her out, right? He quickly dragged a hand through his dark hair. Dammit. This wasn’t going to be easy, he knew based on experience. This situation called for logic.

Muttering an incantation, he conjured a regular ole ceramic mug, filled it magically with water then added the finishing touch. “Sentio Somnium.” His wand circled the water held within the mug, his mind fixated on a larger than life, kidney shaped pool filled to the brim with inviting, clean water. Purple light from the wand mixed into the goblet briefly before disappearing. “Here, Sophie. You can bet this’ll quench your thirst.” Brody has put the Daydream Charm on the mug and the water so if Sophie consumed the water, she’d see the pool a short distance away which meant she would have to step out of the Fountain to get to it.

Fingers crossed that his friend drank from the mug.
