The sudden thump beside him briefly distracted him. Of course Vera had to be all dramatic with her head on the table. Honestly, though, it was a mood. Her response and Atlas' shrug when it came to how soon the food would be there were not very reassuring. As much as he wanted to thump his head dramatically on the table because he was STARVING, he decided against it mostly because Vera was already doing it. Instead, his stomach growled and he groaned. Loudly.
He really needed to become besties with the house-elves and get kitchen access and snacks at all times of the day. Consider it his primary goal when they returned next term.
Nearly Headless Nick's appearance was welcomed during these troubling food-less times. Logan couldn't help but snicker when he corrected Vera about Headman Kazoo's name. Eyes now on her, he tuned out the ghost. Sphinx talk trumped wishing each other a good holiday.
Go try to find her after dinner? Though he would never say it out loud, he had to admit that Vera had good ideas sometimes. "Bet," the blond replied without any hesitation in a hushed tone. The idea of one last adventure before summer sounded fun. "We can sneak out some food for her. I'm sure feast food is waaaaaaaay better than whatever she's getting in the forest."
