Violet had fallen backward about of a third of the way up the wall and had to start over, again. Then she'd been so tired that she tipped over one of the hurdles when she got to that part. Going through the tires this time, she barely had the energy to run, but wound up slogging through them in a kind of dogged, jumpy walk. Then, standing before the hurdles, she felt a sense of futility. She was just not athletic, even at the best of times, and now, after--how many attempts at this course had she made? she had lost count--after knocking herself out for what seemed like hours, she was so worn out that she didn't even have the energy to do her usual mediocre best. She felt like giving up. This wasn't counting as a grade, was it? Would this be on her DADA N.E.W.T.? What harm would there be in calling it a day; after all, she'd given it her best try...

No, Violet Blackthorne does NOT give in! Ever. She may not be beautiful or graceful or athletic, but she was certainly stubborn; it was her best (or worst, depending on who you asked) quality. So, having caught her breath, Violet backed up a few steps to get a running start and headed over the hurdles once again.
