Keigh had a question; an important one at that. Without asking the reasoning behind it, Jude knew she was thinking of their cousin, Hady. Then Carton was agreeing with her. That meant now that he and the baby sister could now be on their way to the starting line. Keigh was right: they WERE going to have some fun. Jude was determined to do that much.
The course was not a race. Even if it was, Jude knew he wasn’t in the right mindframe to get his competitiveness on. He was just here to do his best, and without mistakes apparently. This would require his utmost focus. He’d hate to have to start right over. And he’d hate the same for Keigh, but if she needed to, the older Hufflepuff knew that he would return to the beginning of the course with her.
“Tire run,’’ Jude repeated after Carton had finished giving them the rundown. It shouldn’t be that difficult, right? “I’ll go first, yeah?” And so he did, putting as much focus into the process as he went. Unfortunately, upset happened and in this case, Jude happened to dislodge one of the tires - and almost sent himself flying. He kicked at the ground in mild annoyance before heading back to the start. Had Keigh been more successful? |
