Okay, too much energy, slow down, take deep breaths, don't get excited. Violet said all this to herself while returning back to the start of the course, not looking up to see if anyone else was watching her (and maybe...laughing). She started again, less speed and more technique, picking up her feet as she went. And it was working--she nearly made it to the finish, until at the very last tire she dislodged it slightly out of place. But...close apparently also counts in tire running, because she had to replace the tire and start over...again.

Feeling a bit winded by now (and with her legs starting to ache), Violet doggedly began the (blasted) tire run once again.
