Violet hadn't quite managed to question all four portraits before time was called, but she had managed to learn something useful of each by lurking in the background and listening to the answers to the questioners before her (after all, what was the point of being a Slytherin if you couldn't eavesdrop a bit if you needed to?) A couple of portraits she was dead sure about, and she felt confident making an educated guess about the others, so she was ready to submit her answers when it was time.
There, that's done. But then--what's that? Another 'break into small groups' exercise. Violet sighed deeply, but inwardly, so no one could hear. She loathed having to form partners and groups in classes, but she'd learned that the best way was just to come forth and grab someone.
She spotted a fellow Slytherin, only a few years behind her, looking for partners and walked over to propose herself, glad for the opportunity to work with a fellow snake for a change. She'd been doing better getting to know people, but sometimes those other Houses could be exhausting.
"Aria? Did I hear you were looking for a partner?"
