Since about half way through the previous term Jude had given up on spending time in the Tech Room listening to music. Instead, he had sought refuge at the Music Room where he was able to perfect himself with the piano. Of course he owed his big brother Koen a ton of gratitude for the help but Jude was proud of himself to have mastered the instrument.
He had only finished his very last lesson for that first week back, and that Friday sometime before dinner, he found himself sitting at the piano. His right arm was resting on the folded music rack and his forehead was resting on his arm. The fingers of his left hand tapped out a tune, one of those old Muggle songs that he had put on that particular CD; the rock song called ‘When You Wake Up’.
How exactly was Jude feeling presently? Tired. This tiredness wasn’t physical, it was emotional and only seemed to set in when he wasn’t around his friends, siblings or cousins. At least music helped him cope. |
