The unspeakable was quite good at his job, but sometimes it bored him to talk about it. "How old is your little girl now?" Moving away from the topic of wendigos, he offered Sachin a smile, cheeks slightly red with warmth amidst the cold. "Children. That's why guys like me chase those nasties through the night. They deserve the best world we can give them." In the past, his love life was the stuff of tabloid legend, but he never had been married or had children. Something he would never admit he wanted.
"It's definitely not for the paycheck." Damian added with a laugh.
Still smiling outwardly as Jane murmured to him, causing his blue eyes to focus solely on her temporarily. What time he did not spend on his work during Ms. Howard's convalescence in St.Mungo's, Damian was either pacing outside her room, or stalking the halls of the Ministry. A shadow chasing shadows. The witch's return, and the presence of friends, was helping bring him in from the cold. "Fancy cane, Jane. Functional and fashionable." Having left his at the chamber, the wizard bent his knee a couple times, showing that he was becoming more mobile without it.
