The Charms Developed looked over at her husband's back as he walked off to see the broom display - thinking of their eldest, for sure - before-- wait, did... someone just park right behind the food table and hopped off the car all Muggle-like (Ronan)?
That got Sophie staring blankly and blinking multiple times. How... unusual for a Ministry event. His entrance made her momentarily look around to see if the concealment charms were still working properly and no Muggle cars followed the guy there. Nope, didn't seem like it. And now he was talking about winged horses? Huh. Unusual indeed!
"Hi!" She greeted the newcomer back (Teddy) with a bright smile before grinning in amusement when the man who was already at the food table (Damian) asked for a moment to savour his food before he properly spoke to her. Sophie loved seeing people enjoy their food, so she creepily watched happily waited until him and the other lady (Laurel) had eaten their treats. She busied herself with some chopsticks and sushi. "Wow, this is nice! I wish I knew how to make these." She thought out loud as she sampled a few different things. Looking back up, she shook her head as the woman asked her if she had had any of the rice ones before. "No, never!" She leaned forward a little to see what they were called. "How interesting, is it just... a ball of rice?" Essentially?
Of COURSE! Matt could've facepalmed himself because DUH, that would've been Jace's dad. Alright, saying he could see some resemblance would be lying, because he honestly couldn't, but Matt knew he had to have seen that face before even if he hadn't.
Oh. River and Ryden looked alike. IT ALL MADE SENSE NOW.
The Auror grinned watching the short interaction between the brothers. It seemed they only looked alike physically, because Matt sensed their personalities were rather different. His former professor was waaaaay more like his mate Jace whereas his dad was... well, not. Or maybe it had been his job that had made him more charismatic? Eh, didn't matter. Matt would be happy to chat to all of them anyway.
Look at Jace having an important dad. If only he had posher friends than Matt. "What honourifics?" He laughed, taking Ryden's hand and giving in a firm yet friendly handshake. Being the extremely casual person that he was, the former Gryffindor hardly ever had anyone call him anything other than Matt Solo anyway. It'd be weird if Jace's dad called him any different. "Same, sir!" Oh, honourifics. "It's great to finally meet you! Haji...mehmameh." Lol. But he meant it. "You know you'll have to tell me at least two embarrassing Jace stories so I can make fun of him later, yeah?" It was a given, surely. At LEAST two, nothing too overwhelming. He'd leave the other ones for another occasion. |
