One second there was a hefty chunk of meat on the palm of her hand and the next it was gone. "There you go.. now you're nice and full, hmm.." she hummed softly, reaching out her other hand to lightly run the tips of her fingers along the side of it's face.

"Some want to carry you off and bring you back to their den and make a meal out of you." She was most definitely speaking from experience right then. "But it's not to be held against them, they are only behaving as they should. All creatures all should be treated with caution and care.. as well as respect. Sometimes it's best to know when to leave well enough alone." That's what her sister always told her.
Dahlia was a...third year? She had a shockingly good perspective on creatures for someone so young. Mia patted the thestral again as it finished off some meat, then headed to let herself out of the stall. "You're very good with them," she commented, stepping to the other side of the partition. "Not just the thestrals." And she wasn't sure about the thestrals, since she couldn't see their reactions. It was a one-sided interaction here, from her perspective.

"You're right...some creatures do think of humans as a meal...and that's why that perspective, of caution and respect, is so important." And something some students needed more ingrained in their minds. She was all for students being curious, but there was a way to be safely curious. "I'm going to move on to the hippogriffs. You're welcome to stay and help, but I don't want to take time away from doing homework." Or socializing, or whatever students did in their free time.
