She was honestly quite mesmerized by the squid. The way that his tentacles were swinging around... a bit elegant though clearly conveying a message. Maya's head turned quickly when she heard someone join her. "Oh hi Daniel," she said. She gave the younger boy a soft smile before looking back at the squid, stifling a giggle when he called the squid "Squidward".
She shouldn't have been surprised that not too long later, Kinsay had joined them. Seeing her, Maya quickly stuffed her origami in her pocket and returned the finger wiggle that the elder student had given her. And not far behind was her brother who stood right beside him. She smiled over at him as well before turning her attention back at the squid....
Who greeted her! Wow. Who else could say that a squid who spoke said hi to them? Not many, she reckoned. A bright smile stretched across her face, eager to hear more of what Bartholomew Henry had to say. Her expression quickly turned into one of worry when the squid said he came with news from the depths. "Are we in trouble?" she asked.
