Kneazles were certainly more interesting than pygmy puffs, even if neither was Mia's specialty. But all the creatures needed feeding, and since Dahlia was capable and here, she thought the girl might enjoy the more challenging interesting of the two.
If it had been raining, she'd have suggested Dahlia go watch the augereys feed. But it wasn't raining yet.
She finished up feeding the pygmy puffs, then closed the gate behind her and went to check on the thestrals next. Well. That is to say, she gathered their raw meat from the cooler and carefully carried it into their enclosure, taking care to keep her fingers clear. The invisible ones were always a challenge.
She thought to ask Dahlia to cover the hippogriffs next, but decided it was best not to call over from the thestral stall. Just...didn't want to startle the invisible carnivores.
Dahlia honestly didn't mind which creatures she got to help out with. From the big to the small, she loved them all. Some she was much more cautious around, that was true but it didn't mean she liked them any less.
Each tray was cleaned out before having fresh food poured into it. The third year then went and cleaned out the water bowls as well, refilling it with fresh cold water from her wand.
"There we go. Enjoy everyone. I'll come visit for some playtime once everyone else is taken care of, okay?" Lia smiled and gave one or two of the the kneazles that had come closer to her another gentle head rubbing.
"Go on and eat now. I'll be back soon." Once all of the kneazles were occupied with their food and water, she slipped out of the enclosure and made sure that the gate was closed tightly behind her. Returning the empty feed bucket to where it belonged she looked around for the professor.
Spotting her tending to the thestals, Lia quietly wandered over, leaning against the the outside of the stall remaining out of the way. It was still.. strange being able to see them and it was hard not to think about why she could.. but she was doing her best to block that out. It wasn't the thestrals fault that she could now see them. Sometimes, like right now, she couldn't help but look at them. They were an eerie sort of beautiful.
