Upstead’s full team arrived moment’s after one of Applewood’s non-verbal spells revealed silvery footprints almost too faint to see. They would be easy to miss, especially since the footprints led into the kitchen area and straight to one of the never used cabinets. Was someone hiding inside? No, that cabinet wasn’t big enough for a grown person. Was it? Magic was a wonderful and mysterious thing after all. Perhaps the cabinet door grew bigger or contained an undetectable extension charm?

If anyone tried to open the cabinet, they would find the latch stuck. Yank and pull on it all you want, but the cabinet isn't going to open. Unlocking charms and magical skeleton keys wouldn't get it to budge either because where a keyhole might be instead there was a small strange symbol.
