True enough, Nem had no intention of sitting down, but that was only because that day had found them in a more restless state than usual. Not the poorly regulated toddler kind, which they knew well from past experience with their youngest siblings. It was more in the sense that if they did not keep up some kind of motion - be it physical or mental - they... well, Nem wasn't one hundred percent sure of what would happen. They'd never let it reach that point before, and for good reason.
Standing was fine, so long as the conversation was decent. Judgement pending. Nem joined Rivers at the side of the bridge, leant against the side, and looked down into the chasm that dropped steeply away below. "Suppose," they said, without clear conviction. "Careful though, yeah. This bridge can be deadly."
And, just for the record, wicked boring also. Unlike Rivers, when Nem stood here and took in the sights, they didn't yearn for a calm and quiet year, but experienced a sort of bereft recollection of the last time they'd really felt alive. The irony.
They drummed their fingers incessantly on the wooden railing. "What do you do for fun, Charlie?"
