Jake stepped quickly out of the way when the healer showed up, giving the man a quick once-over as he passed. Ministry healer: confirmed... though it was almost an unnecessary precaution, given they all knew how looks could be deceiving. Still. No excuse not to bother.
Though he stayed a good enough distance away so as not to crowd healer or patient, Jake nevertheless moved close enough to form an assessment of his own. Lumos didn't work... now didn't that sound familiar? As Jane Howard gestured to weakly to her neck, Jake paused, and cast a look at Conley.
And at Penelope too, who had naturally wasted no time in getting to work, and who... well. Yeah. He made a conscious effort to make his look no more than a quick glance, enough to ensure that all seemed fine, but made a mental note to check in later.
Jake figured it might be insensitive or callous to so much as insinuate that any of this was a good thing, a helpful development, so made sure to keep his mouth shut on that score. But this, a fresh scene, no fatalities (and if it could stay that way, that would be great, no pressure or anything), might be exactly what the investigating team needed. "Is she well enough to be moved to St Mungo's?" he asked the healer, and then, to Conley and Penelope. "I'll have security do a headcount, and search the Ministry, and we'll get a full team here on the scene as soon as possible." Jake wasn't sure if anything would come of it, when little had before now, but this was an opportunity they needed to grasp with both hands. "Raini ought to be told as well." Preserving the area and starting an investigation on his floor. People liked to be kept in the loop about these things.
Which meant, at some point, the Minister too. Already Jake was champing at the bit to go and get back again, but waited just a moment longer to see if anything else of importance would be brought to his attention.
