It would not do for her to hold up the line.

Peggy smiled gently at the fellow. "Good morning," she said, following the greeting with another sip of her coffee. "I find I'm having difficulty deciding what to eat today." So perhaps he could take the hint and go around her if he was in more of a hurry.
