Since Anna had gotten an invite and he had gotten an invite and both of them had been given a plus one, they had agreed to invite friends along with them. The more the merrier right? Some might have thought they were working the system, but Kalen wasn't one. Nope. He just figured it was a chance for his friend Brody to meet his girlfriend. Besides, he had a feeling Anna might just spend most of the night with her teammates ~~and he didn't want to feel like a tag-along~~ or there was the chance that seating might have been arranged by team (sometimes working for a different team sucked). By bringing Brody he had figured he wouldn't end up alone, right? There was also the added factor that he liked the guy and being a guy, Brody was less likely to upset Anna.

"So...." Kalen said turning to Brody after grabbing their place cards. This was probably their first officially planned meeting/outing with the man. He handed over Brody's placard and then stared down at his as if trying to commit the information to memory. Was it the fact that they were some of the first people here that was making him feel weird? Or Brody? For some reason, Brody always made Kalen feel like an inept bumbling babbling fool. It was probably because Brody was so proper and mater-of-fact compared to himself. "I think we are this way," he pointed over his shoulder with a thumb and then turned leading the way to their table.
