The liquid in the fountain shimmered in response to her dark magic detecting spell. Oooh, now that was interesting. She had never gotten that reaction on an object outside of a classroom setting. The fact that it was dark magic was not a terribly shocking revelation, nor was it one that really put them any closer to discovering who did this or how to reverse it. However, since it would be her job to research what magic was used it at least gave her some idea of what type of magic she should be researching. Her working theory was that dark transfiguration magic had been used on the water, as the change in it was clearly not just some simple color change spell. Whatever spell had been used to direct the shape of the fountain streams seemed much more likely to be a charm because it was affecting the behavior of the liquid but had not changed the substance entirely. Whatever this was, there were at least two elements involved: one to transfigure the water and another to charm the shape of it. Again not a terribly ground-breaking deduction, but one that would hopefully lead her down the right avenue of research. So she would be looking for at least two different dark magic spells, maybe even a third one that was used to bind the first two in place to stop people from easily undoing the magic. ”This is dark magic. Seems powerful, not easily reversed. Probably at least 2 or 3 separate spells.” That was all she had so far. It meant she was going to have a lot of work ahead of her to figure out what this was, and the reversal process likely wasn’t going to be easy even if they found out what spells had been used.
