SPOILER!!: Remy

Scribble, scribble. After lots of crossings out, Remy settled on her favourite idea Her drawing was atrocious but you got the general idea of what she was trying to portray.

SPOILER!!: “Remy’s notebook”

Portable bookcase
Portable…..
*splodge of ink*

Cotton candy pants
- a cushiony outfit that covers your whole body, protecting you from dangers such as falling from a height
- totally fashionable

*a badly drawn floofy costume, padding whole body*

Perfect. Now to start working on her poster and a witty product name. Remy glanced around to her peers, checking that she was doing this right.
Schmoe was a big proponent of IMAGINATION. Perhaps that is why he slotted in well with the Ravenclaws, despite having been a Hufflepuff back in his day. Er. AnYwAy. Yes. Imagination, quite right, Ms. Gaeltheos.

Finneas bumbled his way over to her desk, seeing how diligently she was working, he peeeeered over her shoulder in that teacher way. "An interesting concept," he smiled as he bobbed his head in approval. He especially appreciated the drawing. "As, er, as far as mobility goes, how easy is it to, er, move around in?" Years of watching ancient reruns of Shark Tank had prepared him for this moment, certainly.

Yet another topic that Claudine was not that educated on. Well, not the part about inventing something but rather, the names of the inventors. Luckily for her, they weren’t focusing on the latter.

Ooh. Designing a poster? Claudine was thrilled. She put the last of the vehicles that she’d been holding {another truck with ‘Ford’ printed on the front} then headed back to her seat, taking care not to injure herself, especially on any legos.

Luckily for her, her art supplies were always in her bag. But first, what inconvenience would she like to focus on? The girl took a moment to think. It didn’t take her that long to come up with an idea. Grabbing her pen and notebook, she began making notes.

SPOILER!!: Notes!
Issue: Computer keyboards usually have spaces between the keys. Dirt and other debris become trapped there.

Solution: Mini paintbrush-like device which has sticky pad-like bottoms that can be stuck between the spaces. This allows debris to be grabbed.

Simple enough, yeah?

She’d better get started with that poster now.
Finneas slowly hovered over to wear Ms. Blaze was working, taking a look at what she was writing out and bobbing his head as one does. "A very useful tool, indeed," he commented. "How would, er, how would you ensure the end stays sticky longterm?"

SPOILER!!: Evan

Actually, he'd really rather curl up in the window seat in Ravenclaw tower and get some reading in. Some fiction even.

He'd cleaned up with the rest of them, never quite finding markers and at one point picking up a pizza cutter which he wrinkled his nose at and had shot a look in his head of houses direction. Muggle inventions were great, but a sharp pizza cutter in a massive amount of clutter?! Could one even imagine if that had sliced the Professor or someone else when it had fallen?! He wrapped it with a piece of parchment from his bag before putting it back.

Muggle inconveniences? Evan could think of a LOT. There was stains on t-shirts. tide only did so much, having to fetch water instead of summoning it, faster healing times, the list went on and on.

But one he did settle on, was actually while he looked at the pizza cutter he'd placed back in it's place. The biggest inconvenience was it was near IMPOSSIBLE to throw away sharp objects because of the concerns of injury that could result from someone reaching into trash and pricking themselves. Quite unsanitary, really. Maybe... there was something that could fix that? He did not provide a vocal answer to the question, and if he was entirely honest he didn't hear many other responses, but he did have an idea now for their next part of the project.

Standing, Evan went to the front to collect some materials for a poster, bringing it back and making a couple of quick notes so he could start designing.

It was a good start. Now he just needed to make the poster presentable and.. iron out the actual details on if he wanted to include everything or if he wanted to settle for now for a cover to just protect.
Finneas had, of course, taken notice of Evan's uncharacteristic lack of participation. But, er, he, too, was feeling ~ p e a c e f u l~, which perhaps had something to do with his lack of concern over the matter. Maybe, he'd, er, remember to feel concerned later. In any case, it did look like Evan was making some good headway on his work.

"This would be very useful, Mr. Nam!" Especially seeing as many students had found some sharp objects among the closet clutter. Yikes. "Have you, er, have you thought of any names?" He looked around, before offering him a smile. "Recyclable and decomposable?" Color Schmoe impressed! "What is, er, what is your thought process behind those particular aspects of design?" A student after his own heart.

SPOILER!!: Violet's proposal

Muggles can't use magic to move heavy furniture and may not always have other people to help them. My idea is to put smooth, flat objects under the furniture legs or bottom so that it can be slid across the floor by one person.

There. She wished she'd had something like that a couple of years ago when she'd had to move the couch away from the door in order to get out of that hotel room.
Finneas was eager to see what Violet had come up with and was pleased to see she was running with her previous train of thought. It always helped to connect the dots, he found. "Excellent proposal, Ms. Blackthorne. What surfaces would this be the most useful for? Er, how well would it work with inclines?" The hills are killers.

It was a nosy and loud irritating, and Kale figured most people thought he was nosy and irritating enough without the tap shoes.

The blonde dropped his head on his desk and slammed it three times. LIGHTLY. Think, think, think, Trent. What kind of things did Muggle find annoying that they hadn't already cracked?

OH. WAIT.

Nope. No solid ideas.

Two more thuds. To jumpstart the ol' noggin'.

And lightening struck his brain. MUGGLES HAD CRUDDY TRANSPORTATION. He could do pitch something to teleport them. It was brilliant. Surely muggle science could crack it. Mhmm.
O______________O

Was? Kale? Okay?

Because ..................... the head slamming was. It was something. It was. Er.

Finneas approached with caution. "Errr.... Mr. Trent, how is, er, how is everything coming along?" Was his head okay? Did they need the healer? Did Schmoe need to crack some jokes to help alleviate some distress? Because he'd do it. He'd do it for Kale.

SPOILER!!: Heath

Could they build a prototype of their invention? Ooh, maybe he could ask Professor Schmoe if he could use the legos to do it! Or not… His heart sank a little when he heard they'd be doing a poster or skit instead of a model, but that was okay. He could work with this! Now he just needed a concept…

He tapped his pencil against his lip as he brainstormed. First things first, he needed to think of a muggle inconvenience, but there were so many to choose from! He recalled his own experiences in the muggle world, and one annoyance stuck out at him: losing things. But what could he invent to fix it? There were already inventions to track and find some types of muggle objects, like smartphones. Maybe he could build on that.

He envisioned a device that could catalogue and track almost any object. It would need to be somewhat portable and inconspicuous… maybe designed to look like something else so it could hide in plain sight. Oh, he had it! It could look like a framed picture. That way it could hang on a wall to give the tracking sensors a better angle, and the picture part could become a touchscreen when someone needed to use it to find something. But what if the missing object in question wasn't in the same room as the tracker? He knew! It could link with other trackers in different areas of the home. That could work! He furiously jotted down his ideas:

SPOILER!!: Heath's invention

Problem: Wasted time searching for lost objects

Invention: The FastTrack, a device that catalogues and tracks personal items

How it works:
  • Product is meant to be mounted on a wall and is designed to look like a framed painting to complement any room decor
  • A series of sensors scan the molecular makeup of every object in the room
  • The device uses that information to identify, categorize, and number each object. This information is stored in a database.
  • When an object goes missing, the user touches the painting to reveal a touchscreen. Users can look up the missing object by name, category. or number using an onscreen keyboard.
  • Once the object's information has been pulled, the device will scan the room for the missing object. Device can be linked with other devices in different rooms to scan an entire house for a missing object.
  • When the object is found, the screen will display its location so the user can retrieve it.

Now he just needed to come up with a poster or skit for his presentation. Given his passion for acting and terrible drawing skills, he was more inclined toward the latter. Oh, maybe he could do one of those infomercials with the loud announcer and clumsy people who can't function without the product. Yeah, that was good… but he'd need a prop to illustrate the invention's design. Maybe he should do a skit and a poster?

Oh, if only Schmoe knew. If only Schmoe knew that Heath had entertained the idea of making a prototype. Finneas would have encouraged it oh so very much. Especially if it involved the use of LEGOS.

But er. AnYwAy. "The FastTrack!" He read outloud with great enthusiasm. This was quite a big endeavor. He was schmoe proud. "This would be, er, this would be very useful, Mr. Jones. I, er, I like the out of the box thinking." The creativity was strong in this one. "So, er, if I am understanding correctly, each room in a house would require a FastTrack? Can they be used inside of vehicles?" He asked, thinking of some of his own troubles with losing items in his car. "Do you anticipate they would be expensive?"

OOC: There's 48 more hours until the end of class!
