Kat didn't want to count how many years she'd been to these welcoming events at the Ministry. It was a tradition in this place and, as the good employee that she was, she'd never miss it. There were many things today, however, that only made her want to make her presence known though. The idea of the department heads serving them breakfast was just...entertaining, to say the least. It's not every year this happened, so this new set-up was more than welcome. Her only hope now was that none of the boss people burnt her breakfast.

Speaking of boss people, she was made aware that she'd be under a new department head. Kat had always liked Olly and enjoyed the other lady's company, so it was unfortunate to know of such news. This didn't mean she wouldn't give her new boss a chance, though. The blond was quite eager to meet him. It's also always like this at work. People came and left. Such is life.

Kat was most looking forward to seeing if another familiar face had taken her advice during the break and applied for a job here. The satisfied smile that creeped on her lips was indication that, indeed, one Theodore Kinsley had landed himself a job in the ministry. Despite the many people here, her former co-prefect was not very hard to spot. He was one of few familiar faces in this sea of employees. "Good morning, Mr. Kinsley, fancy seeing you here," she said. How polite. It was only appropriate. She too nodded and smiled in greeting to the people (Alexander and Peggy) he was mingling with already. Way to go, Kinsley, quite the outgoing man he was!

The former Slytherin allowed herself to look around the available food. The waffles looked good, though she couldn't help but doubt if she trusted the cooking skills of the department head team. No offense meant, of course. But if all things fail, Kat had the 'build your own smoothie bowl' station at her disposal.
