 Which came first, the phoenix or the flame?
Ash didn't want to think about Upstead anymore. So she didn't. She thought about stuffed animals and calculators instead. Speaking of... her vice president was throwing stuffed animals at her. And saying 'think fast'. Never a great idea with Ash.
She caught the stuffed animal reflexively as her life flashed through her eyes. Then she instinctively said several loud rude words before grinning and putting the stuffed animal on the proper shelf. "Stuffed animals aren't my choice of projectile, vice president. But you do you." She laughed and went back to organizing.
Oh look! Kayne had found the markers! HA HA HA. Ash clapped very politely, just like a queen would. She was filled with glee that:
A. her vice president was the one to find the markers
and
B. all the people going 'blah blah blah rules points magic blah blah blah' were NOT the ones to find it.
Okay, so maybe glee wasn't a great thing to be feeling, but it was so much better than hopelessness so Ash did not care.
Oh look! They were PRESENTING!!! "Um... this is a finger trap. You put it on your fingers, and they get trapped! There's a way to get them off tho, that I will not be disclosing." What was the fun in that? "Anybody wanna try it?" Because Ash thought it would be SO funny. There were other things Ash had found, but they weren't as amusing.
ooooh. "Hey Schmoe, do you want these glitter pens? Just in case you want to make your grading sparkly???" She looked at him hopefully. Could he grade her homework in glittery pink? Please?
oooh! And over there was a pencil sharpener. Ash put it on Schmoe's desk, because she thought he might like it. This was like a treasure hunt! It was great.
