Jasper had never been so relieved to have a low-key orientation this year. After spending the holidays traveling around Europe with Benjamin, all he could have asked for was a relaxed brunch to ease back into the workweek. That, along with a strong cup of coffee.

Instead, he jumped in line at the breakfast station, arriving just in time to overhear a new co-worker's (Gunnar) introduction. "Gentlemen," Jasper greeted the Minister and Conley first (you know, seniority rules and all that) before grabbing a plate of waffles. Although it was a bit odd to be served by the big guys. "Didn't know you had such a knack for the pancake arts, Charles," he added, chuckling at the smiley face cakes on the table.

He nodded at the man's guest in greeting as well as he spooned some berries onto his waffle. Out of the corner of his eye, he noticed their department head (Aurora) at the smoothie station. He gave her a wave with one hand as he finished scooping a dollop of whipped cream with the other. "I'll come over to your station eventually...as soon as this first sugar rush passes," Jasper called over to his boss with a laugh, gesturing to his stack of fruity waffles.
