What the... was that the... Minister for Magic!? Suddenly Theo was pleased that he had worn his smart threads, which he smoothed down subtly as soon as he saw the public figure. His eyes lingered on Charles Hollingberry for ages.
GASP - he was coming closer, to the pancake station.
Perhaps he'd have a pancake now after all...
Noticing his new department head (Peggy) pushing a muffin trolley, Theodore made every effort to make himself known to her. “Good morning, ma’am, I’ll take a muffin, please.” He smiled. “That’s quite a set up you have there.” If anything decided to fall off her trolley, he’d be there to catch it, of course. So suave. Peggy smiled awkwardly as a fellow came over and called her ma'am. That always made her feel old. Wait--she knew this one, he was one of her new employees. "What flavour muffin would you like, then?" she asked, trying to remember his name. Kingsley? Kingston? No--Kinsley, she thought. "You name it, we probably have it, Kinsley."

"The structural integrity of Mount Muffin is intact," she said with a proud nod. It felt like building a sand castle that didn't collapse when the tide came in, to have her magically supported mountain of muffins only wobble as they were moved. True, once people started taking muffins, that would be a different story, but these were some sturdy and delicious muffins.
She spotted an employee she didn't recognize (Calyx) heading her way, and turned her smile in his direction. "Would you like a muffin?" Would anybody like a muffin? |
