Cries for help had always sent Kaiser into moments of severe indecision, ever since he was a kid. Someone needed help, of course, but also, danger could lie that way; the thought was a reflex, followed by a quick moment of conscious consideration (which he knew was probably less defendable). But Kaiser always headed towards the cries rather than away. Almost always. Today, at any rate, that was what he did.
He'd been down to Level Six to run an errand for the bosses upstairs, and so was well within the vicinity of the Apparition Classroom. Half a minute later, he appeared in the doorway, wand already drawn, ready to fight.
No. No fight needed, at least from what he could see, but there was someone on the ground, and the woman who might have called for help was beside him. A second later, and Kaiser recognised the body. Man. Recognised the man. Joseph, from Level One. Disappeared without word recently, and now... back.
"What happened?" Kaiser asked the Transportation woman - he knew her name, but for the life of him could not recall it - hurrying over and crouching down on Fawley's other side. Was he...? No. Not dead; chest was moving. Kaiser knew he ought to send off a patronus for a healer, and he certainly would have, if he were able to produce one at the moment. Maybe, if Joseph hadn't looked like he was on death's door, he wouldn't have even considered moving him, but... well. Kaiser waved his wand to conjure up a stretcher, placed a hand on Fawley's shoulder. "Joseph, can you hear me?"
