Suddenly, Ollie found herself at home. She was tucked in bed under the quilt her grandmother and quilted for her and it was dark outside. She guessed it was probably one or two in the morning since she could see the moon through her window. She was good at telling time based on the sky. Wait a minute, where is Pepper, her cat? Typically, she would be curled in a ball in the crook of Ollie's knees, but now she wasn't there. Ollie sat up and looked around her room. Wait a minute, not only was Pepper missing, but her door was open too. That was weird. Ollie never went to bed with her door open. It was always shut and locked. She had to investigate. She slipped her feet off the side of her bed and stood, not bothering to put her slippers on. she quickly and quietly tiptoed over to the open door.
