Alfie was super super super duper excited to learn about Divination, actually. It was one of the subjects that seemed the most magical to the muggleborn. All of it was magical, of course. But spells and potions he could at least wrap his head around. Seeing the future and stuff? Even in a world of magic it seemed extra magical. And did he know exactly what Divination was? No he did not. But he was excited to learn.
Alfie climbed all the way up to the Divination tower. It was a long way but luckily he was eleven and had a lot of energy. When he reached the classroom he stopped and took in the sign that awaited him. Choose his greeting? Okay, that seemed kind of fun. Deciding he liked the fist bump option best, Alfie held up his first for a first bump. But he also smiled at the professor and said "Hello professor!" So technically he chose two greetings. But just a fist bump without saying hello would be weird.
After the greeting he made his way into the classroom and looked around for a place to sit. Most of the people there so far were older than him. He didn't spot any of his dormmates or other friends he had mad yet. But he did spot a Slytherin girl (Wednesday) who looked like she was probably in his year. He chose a desk near her and gave her a smile in greeting. "Hello!" Then he turned his attention to the board. Put his things under his chair, he could do that. Then he closed his eyes and took three deep breaths, as instructed. Unfortunately, it didn't actually have the intended effect of relaxing his mind. Alfie's mind was a bit difficult to relax, especially at the moment. No matter how many deep breaths he took it kept racing with the possibilities of what cool new things he would be learning about today. |
