Mamie was still confused.
People were leaving now? And, and, they were talking about rebuilding trust? She wasn't sure she did mistrust anybody. Well, that wasn't true. She didn't trust Bernadette Grantham. Or Ashley, but that wasn't anything personal, Ashley just got into trouble a lot and she was always worried she'd get in trouble by association. The adults thought? Professor Williamson was cool. And Varma, too, they'd both been in The Room with them. And...and Professor Aguilar had been cool...but he left them. She liked Professor Schmoe, he had clearly been, well, he'd been through something. She wasn't sure what the bad guys had done to him to make him cooperate with all the anti-Muggle things when the man clearly loved Muggles.
She finally raised her hand. "Actions speak louder than words, so...they have to prove they really don't believe Muggles are bad," Margaret said quietly. She continued a little more loudly, because she thought this was important. "And that they know Muggleborns are just as good at magic as everybody else. That'll show they're trustworthy." As for her own actions speaking louder than words, she was going to show everybody that, Muggleborn or not, she was born to be a Quidditch legend. And she was going to keep doing magic no matter what anybody said.
Done giving her own little two knuts, she sat back down and shoved the rest of the strawberry bread in her mouth. It was so tasty. |
