Running a hand through his hair, Jake made his way around to the viewing room, half dreading what he was about to hear, and half desperate for every last detail.

Nem had been in here for a while. Plenty long enough to sit and think through exactly what it was they were going to say about all this, and then stew in boredom - what was new there - until someone showed up. That wasn't what had happened, though. In actual fact, mere minutes after they'd been left here to sit and wait, Nem had put their head down on their arms, blocking out the light as best they could, and took advantage of the time to grab some shut-eye. It had, after all, been a very long, very eventful night.
Now they awoke quite suddenly, sitting bolt upright despite the lingering all-over ache. Nem rubbed at one eye with the heel of their hand, squinting through the other at those who entered, looking distinctly disheveled from battle and from sleep.
