Jane had intended to head directly to Hogwarts, but had been delayed in her exit from the Minister's office by questions and explanations, and when she at last made her way out, she was greeted by a scene of unimaginable chaos. Out of the corner of her eyes she glimpsed Bain and was tempted for a second to go after him for what he had done to her friend, but what really caught her attention was the conflagration blazing away in what had been the Technology Lounge (and soon to work its way out into the rest of the Ministry. That must take priority. She would leave Bain to the MLE folk.
Jane's first impulse was to use one of those powerful water-conjuring spells she'd learned at the Alchemical Institute, but just in time, she recalled Violet saying something to her about electrical fires and how water made them worse. And with all the devices in the Lounge, she wouldn't risk using water.

Jane caught sight of some other Order members closer to the blaze and saw the group was making a coordinated effort to use the extinguishing charm in unison, and so she joined them. Fortunately, years of alchemical mishaps had made her very good at the extinguishing charm.
