Luckily, the exercise had been working for her. Any earlier, and Penelope knew she wouldn't have been able to tolerate a conversation, especially one leading to the very topic she'd been angry about. The anger was still there, but more at a simmer now, more manageable, no longer threatening to make her explode at the next person unfortunate enough to talk to her.

She shook her head. "No, this is new. It's not supposed to be like this." 'Course, things weren't always sunshine and rainbows either, especially in the MLE department, but all of this tension, this anger... Penelope hadn't felt it in a long time. It shouldn't have been coming from her place of work, of all places.
Not...not supposed to be like this? What did that mean? Gabriel frowned at the woman. Diid she mean...people weren't supposed to be upset? That was good? He thought? The twenty-one-year-old was deeply confused, though. If everyone being upset was new, what had triggered that? Just....so much confusion for this Castelobruxo graduate. Was it because he'd failed history? He was pretty sure it was because he had failed history.

"Has everyone been secretly given a potion or something?" he asked. What was the opposite of the draught of peace? It seemed like that was the problem. Just give everyone some Draught of Peace, everyone would relax, and things would be normal again.

Right?

Or...he thought again about some of the weird things, with the coffee cart, with those weird banners everywhere. Maybe he needed to do some research on whoever that man on the banners was. He pulled his feet onto the pedals of the bike again and started spinning the "wheels" as quietly as he could, still looking thoughtfully at the Auror. Aurors were smart. Surely she could explain what the problem was. "Why do you think things changed?" he asked, blissfully unaware of any risk to the questions he was asking.
