It had been a particularly exhausting day, but maybe this phrase loses its merit if you are fighting a constant state of exhaustion. Tomasz was doing just that. It did not help that it was nearing the end of his shift. The exhaustion only ever got worse as the day went on. Some days were worse than others and today he did not have the time to make himself a coffee in the breakroom (seeing as purchasing one from the Atrium was no longer an option for him).
As his shift came to an end and he prepared to head home, he made an impulsive decision to stop by Goldwasser's office first. He had been meaning to do so for a few days now, but perhaps the lack of sleep had finally caught up to him, ridding him of inhibitions.
Slipping one hand into his pocket, he raised the other and rapped his knuckles against the door before taking a step back and waiting.
