Constant Vigilance! O_O AWAKE!

Mamie wished Aguilar had kept them on-topic with Quidditch fouls, silly as it was that people needed fouls to keep them from being outrageously selfish in the sport, she was very very worried about the Inquisitorial Squad busting through his door. Or the floor, because it rhymed with door. They were like parents, you thought they wouldn't see or wouldn't hear but they had eyes on the back of their heads and superwizard hearing. They seemed to even know what people were thinking.

It was terrifying.

Maybe those Neo-Alliance folks just needed some Quidditch rules in real life. Like, to keep everybody safe and penalize people who did things that were not for the "greater good" but only for the good of the meanie-doxy-heads. It did not occur to her that was what laws were. Instead she sighed, again dramatically, and tried to believe what Aguilar said. It was hard to believe, though! She didn't have enough experience with the wizarding world outside Hogwarts to know if there was any truth at all in what he said.

But her little critical thinking skills were trying...if there were more people in the wizarding world who disagreed with the bad guys, they would have saved them already? It had been months! The only borderline logical conclusion Mamie could draw was that all the outside wizards agreed with them, and the bad guys had taken over the outside, too. The Neo-Alliance was in control here, the Neo-Alliance was in control there, the Neo-Alliance was in control everywhere.

Mamie did not say this out loud, though, because Aguilar seemed like he needed his li'l bit of hope. He was a Muggleborn, too, she remembered, so didn't he know everyone was terrible and there was no hope? She just looked at him skeptically, and took another sip of her water.
